Meet Little Learner's Journal

5 min read · March 16, 2026

Every app I've built started as a problem in my own house. Little Learner's Journal started on a Tuesday morning, on the living room floor, with a bored two-year-old and a mom (me) who had completely run out of ideas.

I did what we all do — opened Pinterest, fell down a 45-minute rabbit hole, and ended up with a list of activities that needed supplies I didn't own and prep time I didn't have.

There had to be a better way. So I built it.

What it actually does

Little Learner's Journal generates fresh, developmentally-appropriate activities for toddlers ages 2–3, on the spot, across five categories:

  • Sensory Play — squishy, messy, wonderful
  • Outdoor Exploration — bugs, leaves, puddles
  • Arts & Crafts — fridge-worthy masterpieces
  • Science & Simple Math — tiny experiments, big eyes
  • Reading & Storytelling — stories you build together

Every activity comes with the tools you need (things you already own), step-by-step instructions, and the learning goals built in — so you know what your toddler is actually developing, even when it looks like just playing.

"The journal page is my favorite part. Because these toddler moments go fast. Writing them down matters."

Why the journal matters

After each activity there's a parent reflection prompt and a journal page. What made them laugh? What surprised you? It takes two minutes, and six months later those two minutes are treasure.

The app is in final testing right now — 85% of the way there. Join the waitlist and you'll get early access plus a free bonus activity pack at launch. 🌟
