I Hired 8 Robots to Run My Business (Between Naptimes)

Let me tell you the actual problem, because I think a lot of you have the same one.

I'm building several things at once. And my "work day" is whatever slivers of time I can find โ€” nap time, after bedtime, the twenty minutes before everyone's awake. The building part? I'm good at that. The keeping-track part is where everything falls apart. I'd finish something, forget I finished it, and start it again a week later like a goldfish with a to-do list.

"I didn't need more hours. I needed the work to remember itself when I couldn't."

So I built a little crew

Not people โ€” I can't afford people. Eight small AI agents, each with one job, all running on a schedule whether I'm at my laptop or on the floor building a block tower. One finds me freelance leads. One writes drafts. One preps my Pinterest. One quietly moves my half-finished projects one step closer to done.

The trick that made it actually work wasn't the agents themselves โ€” it was giving them a shared brain. A single place where every one of them reads what happened yesterday before it does anything today, and writes down what it did when it's finished. So nothing gets dropped, and nothing gets done twice.

What changed

The honest version: it's not magic and it's not hands-off. I still review everything. But instead of starting every day from a blank, panicked "wait, where was I," I start from a list of things that already moved while I was asleep. That's the difference between drowning and swimming when you've only got two hours.

If you're a one-woman operation trying to run more than one thing, hear me on this: you don't need to work more hours. You need the work to stop starting over. Build the system that remembers for you โ€” even a scrappy one โ€” and future-you will cry actual tears of gratitude between naptimes.

I'm documenting the whole build as I go. Messy middle and all. Stick around.
